Privacy

Brielle’s World is designed for shared play and stories with a caregiver. Children do not need an account, birthday, photograph or voice recording.

Who is responsible for your data

The app is published by [LEGAL NAME: to be supplied before publication], who decides how the small amount of purchase data described below is used. Privacy contact: privacy@briellesworld.com. Use this address for any question or request in this policy.

Saved on your device

The app stores profile nicknames, your selected profile, favorites, activity and story choices, story bookmarks, observations, sound preferences, playroom settings, game state, a short record of recent play that powers the “this week” summary for grown-ups, and the optional daily play-time count. Up to four profiles are available. These records stay in the app’s local storage and are not sent to a developer-operated server. Profiles do not automatically synchronize between devices.

Service providers

The app uses one service provider, RevenueCat, Inc., to complete purchases and restores and to confirm whether Premium is active. RevenueCat acts as our processor: it handles this data for us and not for its own advertising.

RevenueCat’s own handling is described in its privacy policy. Apple processes payments under its own policies and we never receive your payment card details. Purchases, restoration and some status checks need a connection. The bundled free collection works without an internet connection.

Children’s privacy (COPPA)

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app has no child accounts and asks for no name, birthday, email, photo or voice. The only data that leaves the device is the purchase data above, and purchases are only possible behind a grown-up check, which is a reading and arithmetic question that changes after a wrong answer and pauses for 30 seconds after two wrong answers. A parent or guardian can ask to review or delete anything we or RevenueCat hold about a purchase by writing to the privacy contact above. The app holds no other children’s data off the device, so there is nothing else to review or delete on our side. Deleting the local data is described under “Backups, removal and choices”.

Legal basis, retention and your rights (GDPR and UK Children’s Code)

For people in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom: we process purchase data because it is needed to provide the subscription you buy (performance of a contract) and to keep records we are required to keep (legal obligation). We do not use consent, profiling, advertising or behavioral nudges, and the app has high-privacy defaults: no location, no sharing with other people, and no data collected beyond purchases. Data in the app stays on your device until you delete it. RevenueCat keeps the anonymous purchase record for as long as it is needed to run the subscription and to meet legal and tax duties, under its policy. You may ask the privacy contact for access to, correction of, deletion of or a copy of that purchase record, and you may complain to your data protection authority.

Transfers to the United States

RevenueCat is based in the United States, so purchase data sent to it is transferred and processed there. See its privacy policy for the safeguards it uses for such transfers.

What the app does not request

The app does not request camera, microphone, contacts or location permission. It does not include advertising, tracking, a child account, play analytics, cloud profile sync or live generative AI. The only service the app contacts besides Apple is RevenueCat, for purchases. Story narration is produced before release and bundled as audio files. Listening does not send the story or a child’s voice to an AI service.

Optional reminders

Reminders are scheduled locally after a grown-up opts in and allows notifications. They are silent and contain no profile names or lesson details. Turn them off in the family plan or iOS notification settings. Resetting play or deleting a profile removes its scheduled reminders when the app reconciles them. Reminders do not require a push notification server.

Backups, removal and choices

Your device’s system backup may include saved play. You control system backups through your device and Apple settings. In Grown-ups, delete a profile to remove that profile’s local play, or choose Reset all local play.

Reset all local play erases: every profile and its play, favorites, bookmarks, observations, the weekly summary, family plans and reminders, sound and play-time settings, the play-time count for today, and any recovery copies the app made of its own saved state.

Reset all local play does not erase: your Apple subscription (cancel it in Apple subscription settings), device or iCloud backups made by your device, content you chose to save elsewhere, or the anonymous purchase record held by RevenueCat. Write to the privacy contact to have that record deleted. Removing the app or losing the device can remove local records, and we cannot recover them because no developer cloud account exists.

External pages and support

External links are in the gated Grown-ups area. A website you open follows its own policies. If you contact support outside the app, the information you choose to send will be handled by the support channel shown on the support page. Do not send a child’s full name, photos, recordings, sensitive health information or Apple Account password.

Changes

If the app’s data handling changes, this policy and the App Store disclosures must be updated to match the released version.
