Kite in the wind
“The wind lifts the kite. What do you notice?”
A small moment on the island where a kite rides the wind. Rona asks your child what they notice.
What your child does
- Guess first: Your child is asked what the wind is doing to the kite.
- Test it: They watch the kite lift and move.
- Try again: Rona invites your child to say what they noticed out loud.
The problem-solving skill: noticing and describing
Looking closely and putting what you see into words. Every guess-and-test starts with noticing something.
Try it at home
On a breezy day, hold up a ribbon or a paper strip and talk about which way it blows and why. Ask your child to guess first, then try it together.
This little scene lives on the clay island on this site. In the app, Moss’s kite appears in the kindness story The Broken Kite.
